Train was 11 years old. We had him for almost eight beautiful years (short six days). If Train were a human, he would have been the ultimate gentleman. Gentle, polite, quiet "man." A fierce protector. He had the deepest protective growl toward intruders I have ever heard from a greyhound. A lover of squeaky stuffies. He would squeak them until they couldn't anymore. Ruler of the backyard. He would always police his greyhound housemates from running faster than him! Not that anyone could. My champion leaner and elbow nudger. He craved attention and adoration, which he got plenty of daily. My sweet snuffle-kisser. Such sweet snuffle kisses... he had those little hairs on his lips and would snuffle you before he would gently kiss you. Such a gentle, sweet soul. I will miss him every day for the rest of my life. How fortunate I was to have shared in his precious life.
