Beyond the Battle Museum, Adams County Historical Society
This is a first for GiG! The brand-new Beyond the Battle Museum has invited us to join them for a talk and tour. We have visited this museum, and for those of you who have interests beyond the Civil War, this will be for you. It's a gorgeous place, and the stories are riveting, especially the "Civil War Experience Room." It gives you a close-up and personal view of an in-town battle. It's frightening, exciting, and informative all at the same time...not to be missed. The talk will be approximately 45 minutes and will be outside, so please bring a chair and dog blanket, but note that dogs will not be permitted inside the museum. GiG registrants (with a bracelet) can purchase tickets for the museum at a group discounted rate of $12/person, but you must show your event bracelet to get that rate.
Note: No Bracelet Needed to Attend the Talk, only to buy museum tickets.

A fun do-it-yourself workshop that allows you to create a paper mache sculpture in the style of master sculptor Steve Wirtz.
This 3-hour class will have you gluing paper strips over pre-made wire armatures (forms). That's right; the hard part is done for you. Wirtz will show you tips and techniques to make the most spectacular sculpture! Absolutely no artistic talent needed. Just show up wearing clothes you don't mind getting messy and bring a rag or towel to wipe off your hands. All other supplies/materials provided.
Additional wire forms/kits will be available for purchase at the workshop. Don't miss it!
